How we handle personal data under UK GDPR.

DRAFT: have this reviewed before launch. Fill in the controller details, retention period and processor list.

Who we are

Grid Connection Consultants is operated by TODO Company Name Ltd, the data controller for personal data collected through this site. Contact: hello@gridconnectionconsultants.co.uk.

What we collect

  • Forms. When you use a contact, listing, claim or correction form we collect your name, email address, message and, where relevant, your firm's name and website. When you ask us to find a consultant we also collect your organisation and phone number if you give them, and the project details you enter.
  • Analytics. We use Vercel Web Analytics, which records aggregated page views without cookies and without identifying individual visitors. We also use Google Analytics, which sets cookies and collects information such as the pages you visit, how you arrived at the site, your approximate location and your device and browser, so that we can understand how the site is used. You can opt out using Google's browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
  • Server logs. Our host keeps short-lived technical logs, such as IP addresses, for security and reliability.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

We use form data to reply to you and to maintain accurate listings, on the basis of our legitimate interests. Business contact details published in listings are processed on the same basis.

When you ask us to find a consultant, we pass your name, contact details and project description to up to 3 listed consultancies so that they can contact you. We do this to provide the service you asked for. Each consultancy then handles your details under its own privacy notice. We do not share enquiries with anyone else.

Who processes it for us

  • Vercel Inc. (hosting and analytics)
  • Google LLC (Google Analytics)
  • Resend (email delivery of form submissions)

Some processors are based outside the UK. Where that applies, transfers are covered by appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum. [TODO: confirm]

How long we keep it

[TODO: retention period, e.g. enquiries deleted after 24 months.]

Your rights

You can ask for access to, correction or deletion of your personal data, or object to how we use it. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
